Mixed breed racing night, a lot of big stakes races for the mixed breeds in Week 15. I have a few running in some of the stakes, not counting on any winning but hoping that the SIM gods will be kind. 24 running.
Amir - 5-year-old Arabian gelding - He's running in a 125K sponsored Grade 3 stakes, three horse field where he is most likely to come in last - but the payout should be decent and it will still look good on his record. He's an up and down sort of runner, depends on how he feels how well he does. 3 66
Blind Unicorn - 4-year-old Arabian gelding - Unimpressive runner in a 12K MSW, five horse field. 5 5
Canyon Creek - 4-year-old Appy gelding - Another unimpressive runner in a 15K MSW, five horse field. 5 7
Combat Rock - 6-year-old Arabian horse - Running in a 150K Grade 2 stakes, ten horse field. Another one that runs hot and cold, has a tendency to choke in the big ones. Lots of monsters in this field. 9 66
Corona Effects - 2-year-old QH filly - She's running in a 100K sponsored claimer, four horse field and a 10K purse. 3 59
Drakar - 3-year-old trot gelding - Winged underachiever running in a 12K MSW, three horse field. 2 40
Emotions in Motion - 3-year-old trot filly - Another winged underachiever running in a 12K MSW, eight horse field. 6 48
Highstyle Calamity - 2-year-old QH filly - Second start for me, running in a 10K NW3, three horse field and one is an AJ horse. She should get a good second out of this. 2 53
Hoodjer - 3-year-old trot gelding - Second start for me, running in a 12K MSW, five horse field. 2 37
I Play Rough - 2-year-old QH filly - Running in a sponsored 25K allowance, three horse field. 2 53
Kasida - 6-year-old Arabian mare - This is her last race before retirement, one of the original mixers when they were first introduced into the SIM. I'll miss racing her but she'll be fun to breed too. She's running in a 150K Grade 2 stakes, five horse field. She's the oldest and looks like she may come in last since there are so many monsters but she'll still bring in a decent check. It's about a furlong longer than she likes anyway. 5 66
Lonesome Fugitive - 4-year-old trot gelding - Running in a 15K NW3, nine horse field. He's one of three that have two wins, anyway. 3 64
Marengo - 4-year-old Arabian colt - Running in a 12K NW3, ten horse field, he's the only one in the field with two wins, but that doesn't always mean much. 4 60
Mayday - 3-year-old Appy filly - Unimpressive runner in a 15K MSW, six horse field. 6 39
Money and Music - 3-year-old trot colt - He's running in a 500K Grade 1, six horse field, one huge monster and a lot of really good competition. Hope he can get up for a piece of it at the end, he usually tries really hard. 3 68
One Night Wonder - 3-year-old QH gelding - Another unimpressive runner in a 10K MSW, seven horse field. 6 43
Play It By Ear - 2-year-old trot colt - My lone homebred trotter in a 12K MSW, three horse field. 1 63
Red Mustang - 3-year-old Appy gelding - And yet another unimpressive runner in a sponsored 5K maiden claimer, three horse field and one is an AJ horse, 10K purse.
2 38
Spirit Road - 4-year-old Appy gelding - Running in a 15K allowance with a full field. I think he has a shot at being in the top three. 4 62
Star of Tomorrow - 4-year-old QH filly - CAH - Running in a 25K NW2 that I sponsored for her, five horse field. 5 51
The Cutting Edge - 2-year-old QH colt - My lone homebred QH, running in a 750K Grade 1 stakes with a full field. He's won one Grade 1 at a longer distance, I felt I had to give him a shot in this big race, very competitive field. 10 61
Weekend Special - 2-year-old Appy filly - Second start for me, unimpressive but should still make some money for me. Tonight she's in a 15K NW3, four horse field where she's the only maiden. 4 32
Yeshua - 4-year-old Arabian gelding - Second start for me, broke his maiden last out (49). Tonight he's running in a sponsored 50K listed stakes, four horse field, the other three are monsters. I'm pretty sure he's coming in fourth. 4 50
Zodiak Red - 2-year-old Paint filly - Second start for me, unimpressive but still can earn money, it all adds up. Running in a 10K MSW, four horse field. 4 39
Earnings for the night - $98,440 (includes breeder award for Play It By Ear)
