Friday Year 26 Week 7 01/22/10

Somehow I have 35 running tonight. I have quite a few 2-year-olds running and some others that I'm trying to decide whether to keep or not.

A Friend of Mine - 3-year-old AW route gelding - This is his third AW race, he's come in fourth twice and I'm trying him at a longer distance to see if he just wants more ground. I may try him again on dirt if he doesn't do well here. 15K MSW, seven horse field. 1 61

Abacus - 3-year-old dirt route gelding - He just had a fairly long ship so not sure how he'll do but since he's running as a filler I guess it won't matter too much. 20K MSW, four horse field. 2 54

Arctic Heat - 2-year-old dirt mile colt - Homebred with good works, may prefer routes but breaking him in at a mile. 15K MSW with a full field. 2 61

Barefoot Dancer - 2-year-old dirt sprint filly - Second start, came in fourth in her first outing in a listed stakes. She may very well prefer a mile but in the mean time she's earning her money in sprint stakes. Tonight it's a 100K Grade 3 stakes, four horse field and there's one other maiden in the field. 4 45

Broado - 4-year-old turf route filly - She hasn't done very much in her two starts since I bought her for $1 and I was going to get rid of her a few times but just haven't done it yet. Tonight she's in a 150K Grade 2 stakes, five horse field. If she comes in better than last I'll be in deep shock. 4 52

Coffee in Bed - 2-year-old dirt mile filly - Homebred starting out in a 15K MSW with a full field. Her works were okay but most of this field is first time starters, no idea how it will play out for her. 2 61

Culp's Hill - 2-year-old mile/route colt - First start. Not really sure which he'll prefer, his route works were okay but nothing to write home about. He's in a 15K MSW with an eleven horse field, a lot of first time starters. 10 25

Declan's Heart - 2-year-old dirt sprint filly - Second start, won first time out with a 59. Tonight she's in a 150K Grade 2, five horse field with only one maiden in it. She's probably outclassed here but I'm hoping she can nose her way into the top three for the black type. 5 48

Glorious Eyes - 3-year-old turf mile filly - Usually a filler but she hasn't raced since week 2 so I decided to run her in this 20K MSW, eleven horse field. all struggling maidens. 2 55

Grateful Heart - 2-year-old dirt sprint filly - Steward-bred, third start, she's running in a 15K MSW, nine horse field. She looks to be the class of this field but I don't count on anything in the SIM. 1 69

Gremlin - 4-year-old filler gelding - Strictly a filler and has done well at that. Tonight he's in a 20K MSW, three horse field. 1 54

Gull Cove - 3-year-old dirt mile filly - First start for me, first start at a mile. She's in a 15K starter allowance, four horse field, only one winner in this field. 2 55

I Do What I Want - 3-year-old dirt route filly - Another filler that hasn't raced since week 2 so I put her in this sponsored, restricted 25K NW2, six horse field. There are no winners in this field (not even by the sponsor??) and is being run over a sloppy track. Hopefully she gets up for a piece of it. 3 50

Its All in My Head - 3-year-old turf route filly - Filler running in a 150K Grade 3 stakes, five horse field, three maidens and two winners. 4 32

Jungle Gym - 8-year-old turf route gelding - My old gelding out for a spin, he's in a 200K Grade 2 stakes, six horse field. He's the oldest horse in the field but I'm hoping he can get up for a small piece of it. If not, oh well! 6 39

Kindness - 3-year-old turf mile filly - She's running in a 40K listed stakes, four horse field, she's the only maiden, of course. She probably won't make much here but it keeps her fit. 4 42

Lie Low - 2-year-old dirt sprint colt - Third start, third surface try. Just can't figure him out. 65K restricted listed stakes, five horse field. 3 53

Lighter Than Air - 2-year-old dirt sprint filly - Homebred that has done well in her two starts. Broke her maiden first out, came in second in a listed stakes in her next race. Tonight she's in another listed stakes for 75K, eight horse field. Hoping she can continue to do well. 2 62

Little Deuce Coupe- 2-year-old dirt mile filly - Homebred with okay works. This is her second start, she came in fourth out in a stakes sprint, hoping she can do better at the distance she was bred for. 15K MSW, ten horse field. 3 55

Mythical Star - 4-year-old dirt route gelding - Finally broke his maiden last out, he's running in a 65K claimer, with a full field and a 15K purse. 10 26

Nautic Tale - 3-year-old filler gelding - Strictly a filler, running in a 25K claimer, five horse field and 15K purse. 5 30

Nebettawy - 2-year-old dirt mile filly - First start, will probably want to go longer. Homebred with okay works. Running in a 15K MSW, full field, almost all first time starters. 4 56

Peaceable Kingdom - 2-year-old turf sprint filly - Third start, has two place finishes, running in a 100K Grade 3 stakes, five horse field. 3 49

Pumpkin Patch - 3-year-old AW route filly - She's running in a 25K maiden claimer, seven horse field, purse is 15K. 3 46

Remember the Time - 3-year-old dirt route gelding - Broke his maiden last out (61), running as a filler tonight in a 100K Grade 3 stakes, five horse field. 3 55

Sad Eyes - 3-year-old dirt mile filly - This is her first start at a mile, I've been running her as a sprinter but thought I'd try stretching her out in this 25K sponsored MSW, seven horse field. Not really expecting much but no harm in trying. 5 46

Seattle Success - 2-year-old dirt mile filly - First start for this homebred who may prefer a route. She's out of a CAM and her 4F works were good so I thought I'd start her out here in this 15K MSW with a full field. 3 58

Silent Cry - 3-year-old turf route gelding - Filler running in a 15K allowance, five horse field, this is her first attempt at a route. 4 43

Sneak Around - 4-year-old turf route gelding - He's running in a 25K sponsored NW5, four horse field. 4 47

So It Goes - 3-year-old turf mile gelding - He's running in a 15K Starter Allowance, three horse field. 2 50

Speed of Darkness - 3-year-old dirt sprint filly - Filler running in a sponsored restricted 32K NW2 claimer and a purse of 10K, five horse field. 5 26

Stepping Out - 4-year-old turf route gelding - Running in a 125K Grade 3 stakes, six horse field, there's still a chance he might get up for a check. 5 39

The Darkest Noir - 3-year-old turf mile filly - Running in a 15K starter allowance, three horse field. Amazingly, she's the only one with a win in this field. 1 57

Try to Defy - 2-year-old turf sprint filly - She probably wants more ground than sprints but for now she's in a 75K listed stakes, five horse field. 5 43

What a Goal - 4-year-old turf sprint gelding - Second start for me, won last out (64), tonight he's in a 15K NW3 with a full field just to see how he does in open company.
