*It's been an interesting week so far. I was happy to see that one of Midnight Tornado's foals "Tornado Fury" owned by Regina Moore, a colt out of her mare Kenora made it into Tanitha Starlett's top 20 fastest working trotter yearlings with a time of 1:55.30.
*There was a big Steward-bred auction last night that I got shut out of. I was a little disappointed but not too much as most of the ones I really liked were going for higher prices than I wanted to pay, plus I paid enough in the last one to last me through a few of the auctions. They'll be another one opening in a little over nine days anyway.
*Mixed breed racing night! 23 running tonight, there should be a lot of fillers in here as there seemed to be a lot of small fields for tonights races.
Amal - 6-year-old Arabian mare - She has eight starts and only one third place finish, unimpressive is an understatement, I guess. Tonight she's running in a 25K sponsored NW5, four horse field. 4 13
Blind Unicorn - 4-year-old Arabian gelding - Second start for me, another unimpressive filler horse, running in a 10K MSW, four horse field. 4 7
C. E. Hashim - 3-year-old Arabian gelding - Second start, yet another unimpressive horse that I bought for 1K to run in a MSW where he was the only horse, so he paid for himself four times over right away. He only made a 43 SF running against no one, though. Tonight he's running in a 50K listed stakes, five horse field. 5 43
Canyon Creek - 4-year-old Appy gelding - One of the $10 horses that made ten times his purchase price first out for me - however, he is unimpressive too, and thus, another filler. This is his second start for me in a 10K MSW, four horse field. 3 27
Cartecay - 3-year-old Appy gelding - Though he is also an unimpressive filler that I purchased for 1K, he's already made me 16K in the three starts since I've had him. Tonight it's a 10K MSW, three horse field. 3 41
Corona Effects - 2-year-old QH filly - First start, running in a 10K NW2, three horse field. 1 64
Cracklin Rosie - 3-year-old QH filly - One of my better fillers running in a 50K listed stakes, five horse field. There's one monster and some other pretty good horses. 5 52
Doctor Johnny - 3-year-old trot gelding - A recent 1K purchase, this is his first start for me running in a 12K MSW, four horse field. 1 53
Drakar - 3-year-old trot gelding - Second start for me, paid $100 for him, he made $1200 first out. He's running in a 12K MSW, three horse field. 3 39
Dream Trail - 3-year-old trot gelding - Unimpressive trotter running in a sponsored NW4 10K claimer, three horse field and a 10K purse. 2 51
Dreamkeeper - 3-year-old trot filly - She's running in a 50K listed stakes, four horse field, one monster, one first time starter, the first place finisher is obvious - the placings are up for grabs, though. 2 60
Flash Gordon - 3-year-old QH gelding - Bought him for a $1, got the nice gallop, running in a 60K listed stakes, four horse field, it looks like one obvious winner, the other two look pretty competitive, I don't mind getting fourth place money. 4 55
Iba - 5-year-old Arabian mare - Consistently runs in the 30's regardless of distance, conditions or equipment. She's running in a 10K MSW, four horse field over a muddy track. 3 34
It'sbiggerintexas - 2-year-old Appy colt - First start, recent $221 purchase, running in a 50K listed stakes, four horse field, only one winner in the field. 3 57
Karim - 4-year-old Arabian gelding - Unimpressive filler running in a sponsored restricted 25K NW5, four horse field. One monster. 4 44
Matter of Fact - 4-year-old trot gelding - He has five OTB placings in ten starts, running in a 15K NW3, ten horse field, there's a slim chance he gets up for a piece of the purse. 2 62
Money and Music - 3-year-old trot colt - Three OTB finishes in five starts, running in a 50K listed stakes, seven horse field. If he runs his best he has a chance of being in the top three, hopefully the top five at least. 1 64
Muzelmien - 4-year-old Arabian gelding - First start for me, a recent $2 purchase that galloped with wings, for what that's worth. I've stripped him of all equipment except the lasix since he's been running with it for a while. I think this is probably not his preferred distance but want to see what he does. He's running in a 10K MSW, five horse field. 5 10
One Night Wonder - First start for me, recent purchase for 1K, he's had five starts and hasn't earned a penny. He's running in a 12K MSW, four horse field - he'll earn something tonight, at least. 3 47
Painters Palette - 3-year-old Paint filly - CAH - Second start, created her to run in a two horse race last out, which she won with a dismal SF of 49. Tonight she's in a sponsored 25K NW2 at a different distance, but again, two horse field. Don't think she'll win this route race as she is bred to be a sprinter, but she'll still bring home a decent check. 1 44
Rhodonite - 5-year-old Arabian mare - Second start for me, bought for $1, made 1K in her first start for me, galloped with wings but still a maiden after 10 starts. She's running in a sponsored 25K MSW, four horse field. 2 60
Star of Tomorrow - 4-year-old QH filly - CAH - Just created her this week to run in this sponsored 200K Grade 1 stakes, four horse field. She's the only maiden, there's one horse that has won once, a monster and another pretty good filly. 4 45
The Cutting Edge - 2-year-old QH colt - My lone QH homebred who galloped with wings but finished sixth in his first start. Tonight he's running in a 10K NW2 at a longer distance, two horse field. The other horse is a first time starter with a slightly better work. He can't do worse than second here anyway. 2 63
