Monday Year 26 Week 5 01/04/10

Already a quarter of the way through the year! 27 running tonight, there weren't too many filler races for tonight so I have quite a few in fuller fields than I usually run them, so I'm a little anxious about that. I feel like I'm throwing some of these horses to the wolves. Oh well, they need the exercise, anyway.

Aces High - 6-year-old chase gelding - He's hit the board six times in eight starts, three of those times he made it to the winners circle. He's running tonight in a small 50K listed stakes, six horse field. His only two off the board chase finishes were both in his only stakes attempts so I'm not holding out a lot of hope for him to hit the board here. So far his best SF has only been 90. 5 76

Adonais - 3-year-old filly - Filler running in a 12K AW allowance, four horse field. Trying lasix for the first time. 4 39

Big Guns - 3-year-old gelding - Lightly raced, running for the first time on AW in a 12K MSW, eight horse field. It's also the longest he's ever run. 1 60

Dirie - 4-year-old dirt mile filly - Second start for me, broke her maiden last out at a mile. I put her in this 30K claimer in a full field without noticing that there were only two other fillies in the field. I doubt she can cut it with the boys, also, she hasn't raced since week 11 of last year. This will probably be a throwaway race for her due to me not paying attention. 11 26

Drop Out - 2-year-old filly - Just bought her for $100 because I wanted to try her out on AW, tonight she's running in a 15K MSW, full field, there's a few first time starters in the field, otherwise it's all struggling babies. 8 15

Forever in Gold - 3-year-old turf route filly - She's running in a 10K allowance at a very long route with a full field, she's probably outclassed here but I decided to just let her run to see if she shows anything with the long route. 12 19

He Rules - 4-year-old dirt sprint gelding - Running in a sponsored 25K NW3, four horse field, he'll bring home something. 4 48

Inspired Past - 2-year-old dirt sprint colt - Second start, won first out but only had a 61 SF. Running tonight in a 75K listed stakes, ten horse field. There's a few first time starters and a few that have won their maidens. 6 47

It's My Party - 2-year-old filly - Unimpressive filly that I entered as a filler but a sixth horse showed up so she's probably going to come in last. 32K NW2 claimer, six horse field, purse is 12K. 6 24

Jungle Gym - 8-year-old turf route gelding - He's pretty much just waiting to be retired but I still race him once in a while. Hasn't hit the board since week five in Year 24. Tonight he's running in a 15K NW3, ten horse field, he's the oldest one there.

Lie Low - 2-year-old colt - His best works were on AW but his first start he came in 10th and flattened out so I'm trying him on turf 15K NW2 claimer, five horse field, purse is 12K. 5 29

Light the Fire - 4-year-old dirt gelding - Second start for me, $10 purchase, running in a 25K maiden claimer, five horse field with a purse of only 10K. 3 45

Outlaw Jose Wales - 3-year-old dirt gelding - Second start for me, very lightly raced, trying him at a mile in a 35K claimer with a full field and a purse of 15K. He's the youngest in the field and the least experienced, he looks hopelessly outclassed here. 10 29

Peaceable Kingdom - 2-year-old turf filly - Second start, came in third first time out with a SF of only 49. Tonight she's in a 32K maiden claimer, five horse field, 12K purse. There's one first time starter in the field. 3 51

Penny Serenade - 2-year-old dirt sprint filly - Second start, fourth first out with a 50 SF. Tonight she's in a 60K listed stakes, four horse field, looks like she'll be last here. 4 50

Quiet Please - 4-year-old dirt sprint filly - Won last out in a sponsored NW5 with a 65 SF, tonight she's in a 12K allowance, five horse field. she has a chance to be in the top three. 4 51

Remember the Time - 3-year-old dirt route gelding - Third start, finished out of the money in his two previous starts, trying him at a longer route in a 15K MSW, four horse field. 1 61

Rich - 4-year-old turf gelding - First start for me, trying him at a long route in a 100K Grade 2 stakes, five horse field, he's the only maiden in the field. 5 32

Rose Manor - 5-year-old chase mare - She's hit the board three out of four starts, her best SF was a 92. Tonight she's in a 50K listed stakes, five horse field in France against some really good horses. 3 92

Serene Spirit - 3-year-old turf filly - Unimpressive filly, first try at a mile distance running in a sponsored 25K allowance, eight horse field. 7 35

She's A Runner - 3-year-old dirt filly - Third start, running in a 35K claimer in a full field, 15K purse. I think she's hopelessly outclassed here. 1 63

Shroom - 3-year-old mile filly - Put in a decent 4F AW work in Week 1 so trying her in a 15K NW3, nine horse field with most that are better. I just want to see if she likes the AW track so hoping she puts in a good effort. 9 22

Singing The Blues - 6-year-old chase gelding - He's hit the board in all four of his chase starts, tonight he's running in a 12K allowance, five horse field. I'd like to see him improve his speed figures though. 2 82

Stormy Darkness - 3-year-old dirt route filly - Third start, trying her at a mile in a 15K NW2, ten horse field. Not really expecting much. 5 47

Visage - 3-year-old dirt route filly - Tonight she's running in an 80K listed stakes, four horse field. She has a slim chance of doing better than fourth. 2 57

Whittlin - 2-year-old turf sprint colt - Second start, ran second in his first outing, running in a 12K NW2, four horse field. 3 53

Winged Warrior - 4-year-old dirt gelding - Unimpressive runner but a regular filler, tonight he's in a 15K MSW, five horse field. 4 34
