Monday Year 25 Week 16 11/16/09

This is the last week of racing for Year 25. I have 21 running tonight, some are mares that will be retired for breeding, some I'm running to see if they're worth keeping, and some I'm running because they're due for a race.

Aces High - 5-year-old chase gelding - He has three wins and a second place finish out of six starts. He's running tonight in an allowance with a full field, looks competitive. With luck he'll get up for a check but I'm not counting on it. 3 84

Amador - 2-year-old gelding - Four starts on dirt and no wins, only two fourth place finishes. I was about to put him on the sales page last night and decided to try him on all weather, his all weather works as a yearling weren't bad. So he's in a maiden race, eight horse field. 5 33

Astral Queen - 4-year-old chase filly - Four starts chasing, has one second place finish. Running tonight in a 30K claimer, six horse field. 4 45

Chickesaw - 2-year-old dirt mile filly - I haven't been able to figure this girl out yet. As a yearling she received the "wings" comment and put out some fast workouts. She's raced twice with a fifth and sixth place finish. I'm cutting her back to a mile tonight to see if there is any difference. I actually feel she needs to go longer and won't have that chance until she's three but I thought I may as well give her a start at a mile so I can get that out of the equation. She's running in a maiden race with a four horse field. 1 64

Done In Jest - 4-year-old chase gelding - This is his first race as a chaser, he's running in a 100K sponsored stakes, five horse field. 5 53

Force Majeure - 3-year-old dirt route gelding - first start for me, trying him out at a long route for the first time. He's running in a Starter Allowance with four others.

Forever In Gold - 2-year-old turf route filly - Second start, won first out but her speed figure wasn't the best (58). She's running in a sponsored 100K stakes in Brazil, seven horse field. Most have won races with higher speed figures but I'm hoping she can get up at the end for a piece of it. 4 47

Icarus Flight - 3-year-old dirt route filly - Running in a MSW, four horse field, all are filler types so this is anyone's race. 1 59

Mighty Victory - 2-year-old dirt route filly - Third start, has two fourth place finishes. Running in a MSW, eleven horse field, stretching her out from a mile. 3 51

Nuclear - 3-year-old dirt route colt - Running in a 150K Grade 2 stakes in Panama, five horse field. He has a good chance to be in the top three at the end. 3 60

Orlando - 4-year-old chase gelding - Running in a MSW, three horse field. 2 66

Reach The World - 5-year-old chase mare - Her chase record isn't too bad, 10: 3-3-2, so I threw her into a 100K Grade 2 stakes race, eight horse field. There's a lot of good chasers in this field and I'm not expecting her to get a check. 7 57

Rose Manor - 4-year-old chase filly - Running in an allowance, nine horse field.

Shorebird - 3-year-old dirt route filly - Running in a MSW, six horse field and a very long route. She should at least finish in the top five. 4 48

Silent Cry - 2-year-old all weather miler colt - Third start, first start on all weather, has a second and a third in his two turf outings. His all weather work was okay. Running in a maiden race, ten horse field. 5 36

Songs About Rain - 5-year-old chaser mare - Hasn't done very well chasing, has four OTB placings out of ten starts. She's running in an allowance, ten horse field. Not really expecting her to earn anything tonight. 9 38

Speed of Darkness - 2-year-old dirt sprint filly - Third start, has two fifth place finishes (on turf), running in a 100K Grade 2 stakes, five horse field. 5 23

The Darkest Noir - 2-year-old turf route filly - Won last out, not a great speed figure. Tonight she's in a sponsored 100K stakes, seven horse field, there's a chance that she'll be in the final five at the end. 6 36

Tiger Rag - 3-year-old dirt route filly - Second start for me, came in second last out, running in a MSW, six horse field. She has a chance to finish in the top five. 3 50

Water Landing - 5-year-old turf mile mare - A router that has been struggling, moving her back to a mile and running her in an allowance, eleven horse field. She'll probably retire after this race either way. 11 20

Weird - 5-year-old chaser mare - Finally broke her maiden last out, running in a NW3 because it was the only thing available. eleven horse field. 7 52

Yume Promise - 2-year-old dirt mile filly - Third start, running in a MSW, eleven horse field. 9 30
