Saturday

I thought when I started this blog that it could be a tool to help me figure out some of my horses. It really hasn't worked out that way, so this will probably be my final entry. I may still blog occasionally but it takes up too much time with no reward. With very few decent filler races this year I'm emptying my barn of almost all of my filler horses and next will be the broodmares. There really won't be too much to blog about.

Monday Year 27 Week 5

Already week 5, SIM time is just flying by. 25 running tonight, originally 26 but one must have slipped into a AE after I went to bed last night and got scratched. And apparently she was the lucky one! Worse racing night in a long while for me.

Coffee in Bed - 3-year-old filly - Homebred, this is her second start on AW, she came in second in her first AW start, time to see if she really likes it or was just playing with me. 15K msw, ten horse field. 3 47

Dvoyeveriye - 5-year-old horse - A hard-knocker that always seems to try his best, I've only had him for three races and I keep forgetting to geld him. 10K allowance, nine horse field. two confirmed monsters, at least. 4 58

Elfin - 2-year-old filly - Homebred, second start, came in third first out (52), tonight it's another msw for 15K and a seven horse field. 4 51

Face Value - 4-year-old gelding - Homebred running in a 10K NW2, eleven horse field. He usually runs as a filler for me, so not sure how he'll do. 8 37

Garbo - 3-year-old filly - Homebred that I had high hopes for but fizzled pretty quickly. She may be just waiting for me to put her into longer races. She's running in a 75K listed stakes, six horse field. 5 45

Golden Warrior - 4-year-old filly - She's done pretty well so far, earning something in each of her eleven starts. Hopefully she can continue to do so tonight in this 15K NW2, eleven horse field. 6 45

Ipswich - 2-year-old filly - First start. She will probably prefer longer but thought she may as well get the workout and the experience. 45K claimer, four horse field and a purse of 12K. 4 43

Irish Flight - 3-year-old filly - A $10 AJ buy, sent off to GP with only one work and no starts. This is her second start, came in third first out for me. Her female line traces back to Glorious Song the dam of both Unsounded and War Song. Hoping she can do well in this 12K msw, eleven horse field. 9 26

Johnny Rocks - 2-year-old colt - Homebred, first start. Another that will probably prefer longer but thought might benefit from the race experience. 75K "Top of the Line" stakes, five horse field. 5 42

Keep Me Safe - 3-year-old filly - From one of the Mallory Claire dispersal auctions, this is her first start. Grand dam is Embrace. She's in a 12K msw for her first start, nine horse field. 4 49

Kindness - 4-year-old filly - I would like to see this girl finally break her maiden, I've used her as a filler a lot but her female line goes all the way back to Once Wed, dam of T M Awesome O. She's in a 10K msw, four horse field. 3 48

Meet Your Waterloo - 3-year-old colt - Homebred who has done pretty well for me. Winning one stakes and placing in another. Tonight he's running in the 75K New Mexico Derby against a tough field of nine other horses. I'm hoping he can be up there at the end. 6 51

Orlando - 6-year-old gelding - Not great at chasing but fills nicely. Tonight he's in a 15K NW4, five horse field. 4 61

Paper in Fire - 3-year-old gelding - Homebred that is a twin, neither he nor his sister have shown much potential. 15K msw, nine horse field. 6 35

Parsells - 2-year-old colt - Homebred, first start, also will like longer but running in a 15K NW2 claimer, five horse field and a purse of 12K. 5 40

Philadelphia Flyer - 7-year-old gelding - Had a decent flat career and has three starts chasing with one second place finish. Tonight he's in a 15K msw, ten horse field. 6 53

Point Royale - 5-year-old gelding - Didn't do well on the flats, hasn't done too well chasing, but is a decent filler. Running in a 12K NW2, five horse field. 5 55

Rockabilly Blues - 4-year-old filly - Second start for me, won last out. Female line traces back to Silverbulletday. Running in a 25K sponsored NW3, seven horse field.
4 48

Sad Eyes - 4-year-old filly - Homebred that failed on the flats, now trying steeplechasing. This is her second start over the hurdles in a 15K NW4, five horse field. 1 74

Say Uncle - 2-year-old filly - Homebred, first start, will also prefer longer. Trying her out in the 60K Head For The Hills Stakes, five horse field. 5 44

Sensual Hall - 5-year-old mare - Another $10 AJ horse, female line goes back to Skyscraper. I'm hoping to get her earnings up a bit this year. 15K NW2, ten horse field. 10 29

Shroom - 4-year-old filly - Homebred that keeps knocking on the door of getting her maiden win but it hasn't happened yet. Running in a 25K sponsored NW2, five horse field. Trying to see if the longer distance helps her at all, though she is outclassed here. 5 42

Ultimate Best - 2-year-old filly - Second start, won at first asking. It's a little tougher for her tonight in this 15K NW2, six horse field. All are winners. 4 52

You Need Your Head - 4-year-old colt - Homebred who has done well for me. Trying him tonight in the 150K Grade 2 Pakistan Derby where he should relish the longer distance but it's a really tough nine horse field, including one that just beat him last out in the Liari Cup. 6 48

Yumling - 2-year-old filly - First start, running in the 75K Carnival Stakes, five horse field. 5 41

Earnings for the night - $24,310 (includes breeder award for Sad Eyes)

Sunday

I worked all of my yearlings yesterday, eventhough I was originally going to wait on some of them. Got some nice surprises and nice works, only one or two that were truly horrible and they came from other peoples breeding. The best works came from the Arabians, which is a shame since it will be two more SIM years before they will hit the track.

It'smybirthdaytoo worked 6F in a lighting fast 1:21.14, and was the second fastest yearling work at that distance from 40 Arabian yearlings that worked this weekend. Shingle (Haafiz) had the sixth fastest work at 1:21.20, ninth fastest was Rumor Control (Uday) with 1:21.28. Others of note were:

11th - Just Say It (Sayitsyourbirthday) - 1:21.36
19th - Duff (Thunder Nation) - 1:1:21.51
29th - Poke Poke Punch (Sayitsyourbirthday) - 1:21.68
34th - Sayitsyourminx (Sayitsyourbirthday) - 1:21.84 (breeder C. Everett)
36th - Thunder's Image (Thunder Nation) - 1:21.92

The sprinters didn't fare nearly as well but hopefully will improve at 2.

TB's did pretty well, nothing to knock my socks off, but some fairly fast works along with solid efforts.

Did a little more breeding last night and sold off two more horses.

Onto Monday.

Saturday

*My experiment in switching surfaces for some of the horses failed totally.

*The Steward-bred curse continues, except for Cry Silently who finally hits the board and breaks her maiden at the same time.

*I shouldn't complain since I've made over a million in four weeks of racing. Can't even claim mostly fillers as most of the races have gone to over five horse fields.

*I have almost 300 lifetime maiden wins.

*Only four stakes wins so far, been mostly running in condition and maiden races. Stuck at 5 2-year-old wins and 31 maiden wins.

*Unhappy with the lack of filler races for the horses I have but that's racing. Mixer races continue to have the lightest fields.

*Will be able to start giving yearlings workouts this week, which is always interesting.

*Longer races for 2-year-olds should be starting soon, may be able to get some of the milers going.

*Still have 49 TB's to breed

Friday Year 27 Week 4

38 running tonight, hoping for the best.

A Friend of Mine - 4-year-old gelding - Putting him back on the dirt from AW before I take the plunge to send him off chasing. Tonight it's a 20K NW2, eleven horse field for his return. 8 33

Angelonmyshoulder - 3-year-old filly - Homebred, still trying to break her maiden. She's running in a 24K restricted msw, six horse field. 1 61

Barrier - 2-year-old colt - Homebred, second start, 4th first time out. Galloped with wings and has decent works. 20K msw and a full field with a lot of first time starters.
2 63

Big Guns - 4-year-old gelding - Homebred, he's trying a 85K claimer with an eleven horse field and a 22K purse. Not sure if he has a shot or not. 11 8

Binary Star - 2-year-old filly - First start for this homebred, will probably prefer a little longer but thought I'd give her a try in this 6.5F allowance with a small field of four first time starters and a 15K purse. 4 33

Can't Stop the Sun - 3-year-old filly - Homebred, went to dirt after racing on AW for her first four starts. Did pretty well so trying her on dirt again in a 20K msw with a ten horse field. 7 39

Corner the Market - 3-year-old gelding - Running tonight in a 20K msw, seven horse field. I may be switching him to AW after this start, his work on that surface was okay. 6 42

Country Cruise - 2-year-old colt - Homebred, first start, galloped HTT and didn't have very good works so I'm running him in a 95K stakes, five horse field. 5 42

Cry Silently - 3-year-old filly - Steward-bred that has yet to hit the board in four starts. I'm hoping she will get better as she ages and can run in longer races. Tonight it's a 12K msw, seven horse field. 1 65

Discordant - 4-year-old filly - Second start for me, one of the AJ $10 horses, I like her breeding. Tried stretching her out last time, that didn't work, so putting her back in sprints to night. 24K msw with a full field. 4 44

Eat and Run - 3-year-old gelding - Homebred that's been knocking on the door of breaking his maiden. I have him in a 15K maden claimer that I sponsored, five horse field and a 10K purse. At least one other should make this tough. 1 61

Euridice - 4-year-old filly - Usually a filler and tonight is no different. She's running in a 25K NW4 that I sponsored for her stablemate Night Race and one other horse showed up. 3 50

Expedite - 5-year-old gelding - Steward-bred that is getting up there in years for a sprinter. Trying him on AW for the first time, I thought maybe a softer surface would help him. 12K starter allowance with a full field. 12 1

Fancy Dreamer - 2-year-old filly - Homebred from one of my CAM's. She should probably like longer but also didn't have the best of works. So running her in this 12K NW2, three horse field, the other two are both winners. 3 43

Fifty Stars - 5-year-old mare - First start for me, I just bought her at auction because I like her dam side. She has two wins out of nine starts, hasn't hit the board in any of her other starts. Thought I would give her a couple tries at a different distance and maybe a try at AW before retiring her. So I sponsored a 25K NW3 for her, four horse field. I would like to improve her earnings, if she is willing. 1 62

Grateful Heart - 3-year-old filly - Steward-bred, she's running in a 40K listed stakes which has come up surprisingly competitive considering it's smallish purse. Seven horse field and one verified monster. Hoping she can be up there at the end.
5 52

Guns and Daggers - 4-year-old filly - Hoping she'll take to the AW at a better distance for her, she had a really good work on it. I like her dam side, would like to use her as a broodmare next year. She's in a 15K NW2, six horse field. 3 51

Holy Gabriel - 4-year-old gelding - Second start for me, won first time out but that was a maiden race. Trying him on AW for the first time in a 15K NW2, ten horse field. 8 30

Inspired View - 3-year-old filly - Another $10 AJ horse starting for the second time for me, she came in third last time in a maiden race. I'm using her tonight in a 125K Grade 2 stakes, five horse field. 4 50

Lighter Than Air - 3-year-old filly - Homebred that has actually done better than I had thought she would. Though she has never won a stakes she has been stakes placed three times in seven starts. I think I should have looked for a 3 yo race for her instead of this 10K NW2 with a full field with quite a few older. I guess I may as well see if she can hold her own. 6 52

Living a Lie - 6-year-old gelding - Steward-bred. First start for me, he's another $10 AJ horse, thought he might be a chaser but he failed that. I wanted to give him at least one chance in a race. 15K NW2, eight horse field. 5 38

Loquacious Lark - 5-year-old horse - Second start for me, yet another $10 AJ horse, won first time out for me with a 68 SF. I sponsored a race for him to see if it was a fluke or not, 25K NW3, six horse field. 5 43

Magic Mountain - 4-year-old filly - Still waiting to break her maiden.20K msw, eleven horse field. 4 43

Middle Miss - 3-year-old filly - First start for me running in a 25K maiden claimer with a full field and a 15K purse. 7 43

Monster Heat - 4-year-old filly - Has three OTB finishes in seven starts, running in a 20K allowance, six horse field. Hope she can at least be in top five. 4 46

Mourning N Knight - 4-year-old gelding - Just bought him for a $1 as I need some 4-year-old geldings that are maidens. He was supposed to be a filler in this 15K msw, but a sixth horse showed up. I assume he'll be last as this is not a surface he should like. 6 4

Moving Pictures - 3-yer-old colt - Homebred, still needs to break his maiden. Running in a 20K allowance, eight horse field. I think it was a light field when I first entered him, otherwise I have no idea why I put him in here. 8 32

Night Race - 4-year-old filly - I sponsored this 25K NW4 for her, three horse field including stablemate Euridice. The other horse that showed up will make this a competitive race. 1 63

Nitric - 2-year-old colt - Homebred, second start, came in fourth first time out. Galloped with wings. had okay works. Tonight he's in a 15K msw, eleven horse field.
5 51

Notch - 2-year-old colt - Homebred, second start, came in fourth first time out in a listed stakes. Galloped with wings and had good workouts. Tonight he's in a 20K msw with a full field. 4 58

Outside the Line - 3-year-old gelding - He also galloped with wings but has yet to break his maiden. I think he might need to go longer. Tonight it's a 20K msw, nine horse field. 4 47

Performing Is Life - 4-year-old gelding - Running in a 20K msw, five horse field. I'm not really sure why he doesn't do better. 4 33

Pumpkin Patch - 4-year-old filly - She's improved since I started running her on AW with five OTB finishes in her five AW starts. Tonight she's in a 12K starter allowance, five horse field. 2 48

San Francisco Mist - 5-year-old gelding - Steward-bred, second start for me, another $10 AJ purchase. Running in a 25K NW2, seven horse field that I sponsored and includes stablemate Violation. 2 63

Scotland Winds - 4-year-old filly - This is her first race of the year, forgot to enter her earlier. She's in a 22K NW3, seven horse field. 1 63

Shaedra - 4 - year -old gelding - Running in a 20K allowance, five horse field that looks to be really challenging. 3 56

Vertical - 2-year-old colt - Homebred, second start, came in 2nd first time out in a listed stakes. Galloped with wings and has good works. Tonight he's in a 12.5K msw, eight horse field with a few first time starters. 3 58

Violation - 6-year-old gelding - Running in the same race that I sponsored as San Francisco Mist. 3 57

Earnings for the night - $107,830 (Includes Breeder Awards for Angelonmyshoulder and Eat and Run)

Wednesday Year 27 Week 4

24 mixers running tonight, not even sure who's going. I think I entered them on Sunday and don't remember who I put in where.

Back Off - 8-year-old QH gelding - Probably the last year I'll be racing him. Tonight he's running in a sponsored 100K listed stakes, eight horse field. All the horses in this race are pretty accomplished, hoping he can hold his own. 8 13

Chili Cookoff - 2-year-old Appy filly - Picked her up for 1K, this is her first start, 10K NW2, five horse field, all are maidens. 4 45

Combat Rock - 7-year-old Arabian horse - Poor guy has struggled so much lately. I've been trying to get his earnings over 200K but he hasn't been helping much. Tonight he's running in a 50K listed stakes, nine horse field. I'm trying him with a tongue tie again. 7 66

Corona Effects - 3-year-old QH filly - She's in a 10K allowance, eight horse field. Don't know how well she'll do here. 7 59

D Express Train - 3-year-old QH gelding - "Not impressive" filler who earns his keep pretty well. Running tonight in a 50K listed stakes, five horse field and he's not the only maiden. 5 46

Distance Deluxe - 4-year-old QH filly - This is her third start for me and she's running in a 10K msw, six horse field. 4 43

Doo a Little Favor - 3-year-old QH filly - Running in a 15K claimer, nine horse field and a 10K purse, I think she has a shot at being in the top five. 5 54 CLAIMED

Emotions in Motion - 4-year-old trot filly - Finally broke her maiden last out, will retire at the end of this year but thought I might keep her running for this year. Tonight she's in a 12K NW2, nine horse field, she also has a pretty good shot at being there at the end. 6 48

Especial - 3-year-old QH filly - First start for me, picked her up for $500, she's in a 10K msw, six horse field, at a new distance for her. 2 54

Flash of Fire - 4-year-old trot colt - Has wings and does pretty well in condition races. He's in a 15K NW4 tonight, nine horse field. Looks like he has a shot at second. 1 67

Golden Speed - 3-year-old Appy gelding - Second start for me, picked him up for $10 but not an AJ purchase. Made me 1K the first time out, so he's covered. He's in a 10K msw, three horse field. 3 39

Hotter Than Mojave - 4-year-old Appy colt - I sponsored a 75K listed stakes for him, trying him with an F8 for the first time since he seems to break in and out a lot. Don't know if it will have any impact, hoping he will improve now that he is 4 and be more consistent. Six horses in this field and there are some good ones in here.
1 65

I Play Rough - 3-year-old QH filly - She has hit the board in all four of her starts but has yet to see the winner's circle. 10K msw, five horse field. Looks like she should win but nothing is ever a sure thing in racing. 1 63

Justin Credible - 4-year-old QH gelding - Running in a 50K listed stakes with a full field. He'll have his hooves full with this competitive field. 10 61

Mamagrin - 3-year-old pace gelding - First start for me, second start overall. He's running in a 12K msw, seven horse field. 3 57

Marengo - 5-year-old Arabian horse - Running in a 10K allowance with a full field over a muddy track. He might be in the top five at the end. 7 61

Taiomah - 4-year-old Arabian gelding - Bought him for $1 and he's made me over 12K in a few races so I can't complain about him at all. He's in a 10K msw, four horse field over a muddy track. 1 38

The Cutting Edge - 3-year-old QH colt - Homebred, I sponsored a 75K stakes for him at what I believe is his best distance. He won a Grade 1 as a 2-year-old so I feel like I have to make some effort with him. Maybe it was a fluke but I hope not. Six horse field. 4 62

Two Bits - 7-year-old Paint gelding - Another one of my old guys that I only race a few times a year. Tonight he's in a 12K NW2 with a full field. A lot of younger horses, at least one older, hope he can hold his own. 1 66

Win I Did - 3-year-old QH colt - Second start for me and he's running in a 10K msw, five horse field. 2 60

Monday Year 27 Week 4

43 running tonight, a mixed bag. I expect to still be getting some up and down results.

Acamas - 6-yeaqr-old chase gelding - Not very good on the flats, not very good over the jumps. Running in a 10K NW2, eleven horse field. 11 37

Arctic Heat - 3-year-old dirt mile colt - Homebred out of a CAM, galloped with wings, had good works - very disappointing so far. There's a chance he will get better as he gets older, right now he just makes me sad. Tonight he's in a 15K NW2, eleven horse field. 6 50

Autochthoe - 4-year-old turf sprint filly - Still trying to break her maiden, she's come close a few times. Running in a 10K msw, seven horse field. Looks like she might have a shot here. 4 48

Barefoot Dancer - 3-year-old AW filly - Every other race I swear I'm going to dump her but she's still with me. She's been okay as a filler, but I always think she would do better for someone else. Tonight she's running in a sponsored 22.5K maiden claimer, five horse field, 10K purse. 3 49

Best Be There - 3-year-old dirt sprint colt - Homebred, galloped with wings, he either wins or finishes off the board, though he still collects a check, so far. Has two wins in six starts, four fourth place finishes. Tonight he's in a 15K NW3, nine horse competitive field. 3 57

Brighter - 3-year-old dirt mile filly - She's a pretty reliable filler so far, probably a good lower level allowance horse. I like her better as a good filler, though. Tonight she's running in a 50K listed stakes, five horse field. She might have a shot at hitting the board here. 4 50

Broado - 5-year-old AW mile mare - I would retire her to the shed but she just started running on AW at the end of last year and she improved on it. I was running her in routes but I'm trying her at a mile as she just doesn't quite get there even in the shorter routes. Running in a 12K NW3, nine horse field. 3 50

Captured By Style - 4-year-old dirt filly - Really a not very good filler, trying her in a race with a fuller field. Her dam side is decent. Not expecting much. 15K msw, seven horse field. 4 43

Chickesaw - 4-year-old AW route filly - Seems to be doing better on the AW. Sponsored this restricted 25K NW3 for her, three others showed up. She'll be going to the breeding shed at the end of the year so trying to get her earnings up a bit more. Just noticing that this is the third race I have sponsored for this horse. I think I may give her one more spin on the dirt at a longer distance, since she has only run short routes on dirt and she seems to prefer longer distances. Best SF is 64 (dirt). 1 61

Circumscription - 3-year-old AW mile filly - First start for me, $10 AJ horse, had a nice AW work so thought I'd give her a shot here in a race I sponsored and it quickly filled up. 25K msw, full field. 5 44

Crawl - 4-year-old dirt sprint filly - Fairly reliable runner, tonight she's in a 15K NW3, ten horse field. 5 51

Culp's Hill - 3-year-old dirt gelding - Usually a filler, running tonight in a 40K claimer with a six horse field including stablemate Pay the Piper and a 12K purse.
5 42

Derby Hat - 5-year-old dirt route mare - Another getting ready for the shed! Tonight she's in a 25K allowance, five horse field, with monsters. 5 49

Ease of Motion - 2-year-old turf sprint filly - First start, running in a 15K msw, four horse field. 3 54

Mean Joe - 4-year-old chase gelding - Second start chasing, running in a 12K msw, nine horse field. 3 60

Pay the Piper - 3-year-old dirt route gelding - Homebred, running in the same race as Culp's Hill. 4 48

Peaceable Kingdom - 3-year-old turf filly - Usually a filler, running in a sponsored 25K NW2, five horse field. 5 36

Friday Year 27 Week 3

26 running tonight and to be honest, I'm not even sure who is racing! I didn't have a lot of time to enter horses for tonights races and pretty much haphazardly threw horses in where I could. May be an interesting night...

Abacus - 4-year-old dirt gelding - Homebred, usually a filler, ended up in a six horse race because I didn't have time last night to double check entries. He needs the race anyway. 25K allowance, six horses, including stablemate Gremlin. Best SF is 54.
5 35

All About Snow - 2-year-old AW sprint colt - CAH, first start, running in a 12K msw with a full field. 7 35

American Dixie - 2-year-old dirt sprint filly - Second start, came in fourth first time out. Hopefully this slightly longer sprint will help. 15K msw, six horse field, four are first time starters. Best SF is 55. 4 56

Be All - 4-year-old filly - Filler in a 12K starter allowance, five horse field. Best SF is 44. 5 40

Country Tale - 3-year-old filly - First start for me, entered into a 50K listed stakes I sponsored for Unwritten Story, there was only four horses in there so I put in this horse to round it out to five but than someone else entered later on to bring it to six, four of which are maidens. Best SF is 35. 6 32

Dancing Vee - 2-year-old turf filly - Homebred, first start, will probably prefer longer but starting her out in a 12K NW2, five horse field. 5 47

Loki Past - 7-year-old dirt route gelding - Has chasing potential and will probably be switching over after tonight. He's done well for me on the flats though with five wins and four seconds in twelve starts. Has won his last two but probably will have a harder time tonight running in this sponsored, restricted 25K allowance, with a strong ten horse field and a marathon distance of 2 miles. Best SF is 72. 5 57

Love Divided - 3-year-old AW mile filly - Third start, running in a 25K msw with a full field. Best SF is 53. 4 49

Unwritten Story - 3-year-old dirt route filly - Homebred, really seems to only like sloppy tracks. Running tonight in a 50K listed stakes that I sponsored, six horse field. Tuesday Week 3

Friday and Monday were probably my worse racing nights this year and my stats took a pretty big hit. I think this is mainly due to the fact that there has been less need to fill races and most of the horses I'm running just can't cut it in open company. So I've needed to do some culling, quite a few have been the $10 AJ sale horses. Others are just no longer very useful for filling. The ones that should be good allowance horses that have wins and placings I have put up for sale on the New Player sales page for $1. Most of those were purchased. Ones that I'm not sure of I sent to GP to let the computer decide if they should go up for sale or not.

With that said I'm still sitting at 583 horses.

Not too much good to come out of last nights races, two of my three wins came in races that I sponsored myself and the speed figures weren't all that great. They were only maiden claiming races anyway. I'm not too fond of sponsoring claiming or maiden races but maiden claimers I like a lot more, not really sure why.

Onto Wednesday where there are usually more races to fill than with the TB's.

Monday Year 27 Week 3

30 running tonight as I continue to try to figure out which horses I want to keep and who is really beyond hope for me or just don't fit into my stable. One of the problems is I continue to buy horses even while culling. Argh! Not too many fillers, there just hasn't been too many races that need filling lately except for remote destinations and 2-year-old mixers. So there's more claimers.

Ain't Lost - 3-year-old AW sprint filly - First start for me, picked her up for 1K, hasn't really done well so far in her career on dirt. Thought I'd give her a try on AW. Her grand dam looks nice. Coming off of a maiden win last out, running in a 12K NW2, seven horse field. I can always switch her back to dirt if she hates the AW. Best SF is 63 (dirt). 6 37

Blue Water - 5-year-old dirt route mare - First start for me, second start overall. First out she ran in a sprint on turf. $10 AJ purchase. I sponsored a race for her and stablemate Princess Lilli, two others showed up. 15K maiden claimer, four horse field and a purse of 10K. Best SF in the turf sprint was 1. 3 40

Divided Life - 3-year-old AW gelding - Bought him in the year 25 AJ $10 sale, hasn't done very well. This is only his fourth start, if he doesn't do well I'll probably try him on dirt and on turf at least once, since his sire did well over all three surfaces. If he doesn't do well on any of them he'll probably be gone.25K maiden claimer, full field and a purse of 12K. Best SF is 35 (AW). 9 27

Epic Farewell - 5-year-old dirt route gelding - Steward-bred, though he's never won a stakes he's been graded stakes placed a few times. Tonight he's running in a 10K allowance, ten horse field. There's a lot of good horses in here, despite the fact that it's only an allowance. Best SF is 71. 4 61

Golden Warrior - 4-year-old dirt route filly - Seems to be improving as she matures. Bought her as a yearling for 50K and has made her money back and than some. Broke her maiden at the end of last year, came in second her first race of this year. Tonight it's a 12K NW2, ten horse field over a sloppy track which she should like. Hoping she continues to mature into a good race horse. Best SF is 66. 3 56

Gordian Knot - 2-year-old dirt sprint colt - First start. Homebred with mediocre works, running in a 15K maiden claimer, nine horse field, all first time starters and a 12K purse. 3 52

Incite - 5-year-old chase horse - $10 AJ purchase, second start for me, second start chasing. Running in a 12K NW2, five horse field. Best SF is 64 (chasing). 4 72

Into Money - 4-year-old AW filly - First start for me, $10 AJ purchase. Hasn't done well up to this point for her other owner(s). She has some really nice back class on her female side so I'll probably keep her to try as a broodmare if nothing else. Running in a 12K MSW with a full field. Best SF is 43. 2 49

Joyride - 4-year-old chase filly - Homebred, this is her first start over the jumps, running in a 12K MSW, seven horse field. Best SF is 58 (turf). 5 59

Larry - 2-year-old dirt sprint colt - Homebred, first start, running in a 12K MSW, eight horse field. His works were okay. 3 56

Nebettawy - 3-year-old dirt mile filly - Homebred, seems to be improving with each race. She won a small stakes at the end of last year and won first out this year in a NW3. Tonight she's in a 100K Grade 3 stakes, four horse field. She should at least be competitve in here. Best SF is 66. 4 58

Np Stop - 2-year-old turf sprint gelding - Purchased for 1K at auction, this is his first start, running in a 15K MSW, six horse field. 2 58

One Paradise - 2-year-old dirt sprint filly - Unimpressive gallop, bought for 2K at auction as a yearling. Has one decent dirt work out. Running in a 25K claimer, six horse field and a 12K purse. 5 41

Philadelphia Flyer - 7-year-old chase gelding - Did fairly well on the flats, looks to be improving over the jumps, need to figure out what distance he likes. Running tonight in a 10K MSW, eight horse field. Best SF 61 (chasing), 68 (dirt). 6 58

Point Royale - 5-year-old chase gelding - Wasn't real good on the flat and hasn't proven to be much better over the jumps. Running in a 50K listed stakes, five horse field. Best SF is 61 (chasing and dirt). 5 46

Preempt - 3-year-old dirt sprint gelding - Homebred, running in a 10K MSW, five horse field. Best SF is 56. 4 43

Sensationalist - 3-year-old turf mile filly - First start, recent purchase from one of Mallory's auctions. Had okay works. Running in a 25K maiden claimer with a full field and a 15K purse. 2 54

Wednesday Year 27 Week 2

Mixed breed racing night. 21 running, a few stakes entries, and one homebred 2-year-old. I think most of the horses are running in some pretty short fields in condition-type races, many are unimpressive gallop horses.

Andover Starlet - 5-year-old trot mare - Third start for me, she's running in a 12K MSW, three horse field and two of the horses are AJ's. Best SF is 31. 1 29

Blue Hawaii - 3-year-old trot filly - First start for me, running in a 15K MSW, four horse field. Best SF is 50. 3 55

Carry Me - 4-year-old Appy filly - This will be her last year racing, she has three wins and two thirds in ten starts. Hope she can do well this last year. Actually prefers off tracks but she's running in a 50K listed stakes on a fast track, five horse field. It's a little shorter than she likes but I'm hoping she can be competitive here. Best SF is only 62. 5 37

Classic Gal - 4-year-old QH filly - Third start for me, running in a 10K allowance, six horse field. It's probably a little longer than she'll like. Best SF is 62. 5 45

Colors of the Day - 4-year-old Paint filly - Has a second and three thirds in five starts. Tonight she's running in a 10K MSW, four horse field. Best SF is a 61. 1 57

Combat Rock - 7-year-old Arabian horse - Out of his five wins, three have been in stakes, but unfortunately he struggles at times, I'm not really sure why. Tonight he's running in a 10K allowance, full field, where he should do well, I would love him to get his confidence back with a win. Either way I'll probably be retiring him after this year, I don't want to drop him into calimers. Best SF is 71. 4 66

D Express Train - 3-year-old QH gelding - Third start for me, running in a 10K NW2, six horse field where only two horses have a win. Best SF is 49. 4 51

Distance Deluxe - 4-year-old QH filly - Second start for me, running in a 10K MSW, four horse field. Best SF is 51. 2 46

Far More Class - 4-year-old Appy filly - Coming off of a maiden win at the end of last year, tonight she's running in a sponsored 25K NW2, four horse field. Best SF is 51. 3 45

Flash of Fire - 4-year-old trot colt - He has three wins, a second and three third place finishes in eleven starts., no stakes wins but has hit the board in stakes. Tonight he's running in a tough 50K listed stakes, seven horse field. Best SF is 67. 4 62

Golden Speed - 3-year-old Appy gelding - First start for me, running in a 10K MSW, three horse field. He raced once at 2 and got a 30 SF, his next three races were as an AJ filler so not really too sure of how he'll be. $10 AJ purchase. 3 38

Haunted Hayride - 2-year-old QH colt - My lone homebred sprinter, running in a 10K MSW, ten horse field. Others in this field look more likely, at least by works.
4 59

Hot Jail Bird - 3-year-old Pace gelding - First start for me, running in a 12K MSW, eight horse field. $10 AJ purchase. Best SF is 56. 3 51

It'sbiggerintexas - 3-year-old Appy colt - Trying him at a route to see if that might help him break his maiden. Running in a 25K sponsored MSW, three horse field. Best SF is 58. 1 59

Justin Credible - 4-year-old QH gelding - This horse has been such a pleasure to race. Five wins (one stakes), two seconds and one third place finish in eleven starts, only missing making money once. Hard-knocking, consistent guy who always gives his all. Tonight he's running in a 10K allowance with a full field. There's some monsters in here so he may not make any money tonight. Best SF is 67. 4 63

Marengo - 5-year-old Arabian horse - Galloped with wings and has decent works but can't seem to decide what distance he likes. Running in a 15K NW4, eight horse field where none have won three races. Best SF is 63. 3 62

One Night Wonder - 4-year-old QH gelding - Running in a 10K MSW, four horse field. Best SF is 47. 1 50

One Oh Five - 3-year-old Appy gelding - Third start for me, running in a 10K allowance, two horse field. This should be an easy win for the other horse in this match race. Best SF is 47. 1 53

Sohot - 3-year-old Pace colt - Third start for me, running in a 12K MSW, seven horse field. He galloped with wings. Best SF is 62. 1 62

Taiomah - 4-year-old Arabian gelding - Running in a 10K MSW, three horse field. Best Sf is 48. 2 34

The Cutting Edge - 3-year-old QH colt - Actually won a Grade 1 stakes last year and struggled ever since. I may have raced him a little too heavily, only time will tell. He should be well rested tonight for this 10K NW3, six horse field. Best SF is 67. 3 64

Earnings for the night - $62,080 (includes breeder awards for Colors of the Day and Setting the Mood - bred but not owned by me)

Monday Week 2 Year 27

Week 1 just seemed to fly by. 42 running tonight and there really is a little bit of everything in here.

Abacus - 4-year-old dirt route gelding - One of my earlier homebreds. Eight starts but still a maiden. He does have two seconds and two thirds to his credit, and it makes me feel a bit better that one of the horses in his race tonight has 25 starts and is still a maiden. He's running in a 10K MSW, four horse field - this is one of the new tracks in India. His best SF is a 54. 3 47

Acamas - 6-year-old chase gelding - I like him because he was one of the first gift foals ever given to me when I was brand new. He wasn't good on the flats and he's not very good as a chaser but I continue to run him anyway. Tonight he's in a 10K NW2, eight horse field. Best SF is 63 (chasing). 8 60

Autochthoe - 4-year-old turf sprint filly - I ran this poor girl for two years thinking her sire was a router only to discover at the end of her 3-year-old season that he was in fact, a sprinter. She has improved immensely in the two sprints I put her in. Tonight she's in a 22.5K maiden claimer with a full field and a 10K purse. Best SF is 58 (sprint). 6 39

Barefoot Dancer - 3-year-old AW mile filly - Winged runner that I am trying out on AW for the first time, since she seems to be struggling on the turf. Basically I've been using her as a filler, which she may remain. But I thought I'd give her a try here with no expectations. 12K MSW, eight horse field. Best SF is 55 (turf). 3 51

Broado - 5-year-old AW route mare - I was a little excited when I bought her for only $1 and she galloped with wings. She has a strong turf background but just wasn't cutting it as a racer - I began to understand why her original owner let her go for a buck. She's done a lot better since switching to AW. The only other problem I see with her is that I think she is probably a miler at heart, though she has won at a route. So that will be her next start. For tonight she's in a longish route 12K NW4, ten horse field. Since I'm just noticing that she will probably prefer a mile I won't be too disappointed if she doesn't do well here. Best SF is 65 (turf). 7 31

Capitulation - 5-year-old turf route mare - Still a maiden after 10 starts but she tries hard in each race and has won money in every start for me. Tonight it's a 10K MSW, eight horse field. Best SF is 55. 1 61

Chickesaw - 4-year-old AW route filly - Another winged galloper that seems to be doing better on AW. She's running in a race I sponsored for her, 25K NW3, five horse field. There are at least two that will make this a competitive race and may very well win. Best SF is 64 (dirt). 3 54

Culp's Hill - 3-year-old dirt route gelding - Fourth start, has a second and a fourth place finish in his previous three starts. Basically being used as a filler. Running tonight in a 17.5K allowance, five horse field. Best SF is 51. 5 42

Derby Hat - 5-year-old dirt route mare - This girl was such a nice buy for 5K. I bought her at the end of her 3-year-old season, still a maiden and coming off of a eighth place finish in an allowance. She is a prime example of why farm rest is so important. Her previous owner skipped that step and just shipped her from track to track. After a few weeks of farm rest she not only galloped with wings but she won first out for me with a 65, in her second start for me she came in third in a Grade 3 stakes and as a 4-year-old earned me over 40K. She's currently coming off of two back-to-back wins. Tonight she's running in a 12K allowance, ten horse field with some monsters in there so I'm not expecting a lot but I know she'll do her best either way. I look forward to having her as a broodmare at the end of this year. Best SF is 69. 7 58

Elfin - 2-year-old dirt sprint filly - Homebred with so-so works, running in a 15K MSW, five horse field, all are first time starters. 3 52

Epilogue - 3-year-old dirt mile filly - $10 AJ purchase with average works at a mile. Thought I'd give her a try because I like her sire. This is her third start running in a 24K MSW, ten horse field. Best SF is 27 (AW). 4 49

Fight For Her - 3-year-old dirt mile filly - Another $10 AJ purchase, this is only her second start. There's a chance she might make a decent steeplechaser. Thought I'd give her a try at a mile before making any decisions on her, stripped off all of the equipment that she started with. 12K MSW, eleven horse field. Her only SF is a 10 (at a route). 11 16

Fire in Track - 4-year-old dirt route filly - Yet another $10 AJ buy, has one start on turf. Galloped with wings. Running in a 15K MSW, four horse field. Best SF is 1 (on turf). 1 61

Flash Forward - 5-year-old dirt route mare - $10 AJ purchase, this is her first start. Running in a 20K MSW, five horse field. 4 37

Forever in Gold - 4-year-old turf route filly - Won first out at 2 and hasn't done much since. Running in a 25K sponsored NW2, four horse field. Best SF is 58.

4 43

Glorious Eyes - 4-year-old turf route filly - She's been fairly medocre, even as a filler, may prefer 7F. Running in a sponsored 25K NW2, four horse field, at the new track in Pakistan, along with stablemate Kindness. Best SF is 55. 3 47

Hold Your Horses - 3-year-old dirt mile colt - Homebred that has a second and a third in four starts. I had him entered in as a filler in a listed stakes race but a better horse showed up in the field of five so I switched him to this 15K NW2, nine horse field. He probably still doesn't stand much of a chance. Best SF is 59. 8 37

I Eat Cannibals - 4-year-old dirt route filly - Early homebred, has one third place finish out of seven starts. I might try her once more at a mile and that will be it. 12K MSW, seven horse field. Best SF is 40. 6 27

Irish Flight - 3-year-old dirt route filly - First start, $10 AJ buy, she was sent to AJ right after being foaled, she didn't even have a name, I thought she deserved a chance. She has only one work, 2F on turf, her dam was marginal on turf, her dam sire has winners on all surfaces, her sire has winners on dirt and AW. So I thought I'd start her out on dirt and than try her on AW. Running in a 15K allowance, four horse field, only one winner in the group. 3 46

Kindness - 4-year-old turf filly - Basically a filler, running in a 25K sponsored NW2 along with stablemate Glorious Eyes, four horse field. Best SF is 53. 4 34

Klatch - 2-year-old dirt colt - Homebred with not very good works though he did gallop HTT, will probably prefer longer but somehow I don't think it's going to matter too much either way. Running in a 12K MSW, five horse field. 5 42

Little Bit - 4-year-old chase filly - Early homebred, this is her first try chasing. 12K MSW, ten horse field. Best SF is 45 (dirt). 10 31

Live Life Dancing - 4-year-old AW route filly - Second start for me, second start on AW. Came in 2nd first out for me on AW. Tonight she's in a 25K maiden claimer, nine horse field and a purse of 12K. Best SF is 52 (AW). 3 46

Lobos - 4-year-old AW sprint filly - First start for me, $10 AJ buy, hasn't done well on turf so trying her on AW in a 12K MSW with a full field. Best SF is a 48 (turf).
9 20

Mean Joe - 4-year-old chase gelding - First start chasing, running in a 50K listed stakes, ten horse field. Best SF is 54 (dirt). 7 54

Meet Your Waterloo - 3-year-old dirt mile colt - Homebred, he's been OTB in all four of his starts. Tonight he's running in a 100K listed stakes, five horse field, where all entrants have won only one race. Best SF is 67. 1 65

Monster Heat - 4-year-old turf route filly - She has two wins and a second place finish in six starts. Running tonight in a 10K allowance, four horse field. Best SF is 59. 4 44

Orlando - 6-year-old chase gelding - Seven OTB finishes in twelve starts. Running in a 10K NW2 with a full field. Best chasing SF is 70. 8 46

Pay the Piper - 3-year-old dirt route colt - Homebred, this is his third start, running in a 15K maiden claimer with a full field and a 10K purse. Best SF is a 54. 5 44

Pizarro - 4-year-old turf route gelding - $10 AJ buy, first start for me, running in a 12K MSW, seven horse field. Best SF is 42. 5 43

Rhyme Nor Reason - 3-year-old dirt route filly - This is her third start, running in a 15K MSW, four horse field. Best SF is 38. 4 47

Ruling Planet - 2-year-old dirt sprint colt - Had average works, running in a 40K listed stakes, five horse field. 3 52

Sharp As Attack - 5-year-old dirt route horse - $10 AJ horse, galloped with wings, has one start at a sprint. Starting in a 15K MSW, five horse field. Best SF is 26 (sprint). 5 32

Silent Cry - 4-year-old chase gelding - Homebred, first start chasing in a 75K listed stakes, seven horse field where all are starting for the first time. Best SF is 55 (turf).
5 45

Stepping Out - 5-year-old turf gelding - Usually a filler but a sixth horse showed up in this 10K NW2, six horse field. Best SF is 60. 5 45

Take the Blame - 5-year-old dirt sprint gelding - Stewardbred, $10 AJ purchase, first start for me. Running in a 12K NW2, nine horse field. Best SF is 62. 5 45

Ultimate Best - 2-year-old dirt sprint filly - First start, running in a 12K MSW, five horse field. 1 63

Universite' Paris - 4-year-old chase colt - First start chasing, running in a 25K listed stakes, seven horse field. Best SF is 64 (turf). 7 36

Unvarnished - 3-year-old dirt route filly - Homebred, fourth start, has a win and a third in her three other starts. Came in a disappointing 8th last out in a NW2 at a mile. All three previous starts were at a mile so stretching her out here. Her sire has produced all distances. She's in another NW2 tonight, 15K purse and five horse field. Best SF is 60. 4 45

Up and Running - 5-year-old chase mare - $10 AJ purchase, first start chasing, has only one start over the flats with an eleventh placing. 12K MSW, ten horse field. Only SF is a 2 on turf. 10 28

Yawn - 4-year-old dirt route gelding - Has chase potential and will probably be switching him soon as he hasn't done too well on the flats, despite having good breeding. Tonight is a 12K MSW, four horse field. Best SF is 52. 2 51

You Need Your Head - 4-year-old turf route colt - Homebred, running in a 125K Grade 3 stakes, eight horse field at one of the new tracks in Pakistan. This race may be a little too long for him unless he has matured enough to handle it. This will be a tough race regardless, a lot of good horses in here. Best SF is 68. 2 64

Earnings for the night - $135,690 (includes breeder award for Meet Your Waterloo)
