Wednesday Year 26 Week 8 01/27/10

Mixed breed racing night, a little bit of everything in this group of 23.

Big Boss - 4-year-old trot gelding - Not a real strong runner but fairly consistent. Running in a 12K allowance with a field of ten. 6 51

Blind Unicorn - 4-year-old Arabian gelding - $10 purchase. Unimpressive filler running in a 12K MSW with a field of three. 3 6

Cartecay - 3-year-old Appy gelding - Another unimpressive filler who I paid 1K for and has won me 17K filling in four races for me. Tonight he's in a 10K MSW and he's the only horse. Easy walkover win. 1 41

Comanche Star - 4-year-old Paint filly - $10 purchase. Yet another unimpressive filler running in a sponsored 10K NW3 claimer, three horse field and a purse of 10K.
3 37

Combat Rock - 6-year-old Arabian colt - Fairly consistent but is probably outmatched in this field. Running in an 80K listed stakes, seven horse field. Some real good horses here. 4 71

Cracklin Rosie - 3-year-old QH filly - Not a streak of lightning but she holds her own, usually. She's in a 50K listed stakes, three horse field. There's a chance she might come in second. 2 60

Cresceus - 6-year-old trot gelding - Unimpressive trotter that throws in a good effort every once in a while. Tonight he's in a 15K NW2 claimer with a purse of 10K and a full field. 5 54

Cuts Like a Knife - 4-year-old QH colt - Due to be gelded in the very near future, why I keep holding off, I don't know. He's in a 100K listed stakes, seven horse field. I've stripped him of equipment to see if it makes any difference. Maybe he'll feel like running tonight. 3 60

Dream Eater - 5-year-old Arabian mare - CAH - Filler running in a 25K sponsored NW2, three horse field. 2 61

East New Yorker - 3-year-old pace gelding - Second start for me, recent $100 purchase. Came in second last out for almost 3K. Tonight he's in a 12K MSW, six horse field. Hopefully he gets up for something. 3 46

I Like to Jog - 6-year-old trot gelding - He still hasn't made his purchase price back and I doubt he will tonight. He's in a 12K allowance, ten horse field. 5 59

I Play Rough - 2-year-old QH filly - Second start, third first time out. Tonight she's in a 75K listed stakes, three horse field. 3 58

It'sbiggerintexas - 2-year-old Appy colt - Second start, third first time out (stakes). I bought him, as a filler, for a little over $200 and he certainly has paid off that way. Tonight he's in another listed stakes for 50K , four horse field, two winners in here.
4 53

Jada - 5-year-old Arabian mare - CAH - Mediocre runner in a 50K listed stakes, four horse field, two maidens, two winners. 3 54

Kasida - 6-year-old Arabian mare - I sponsored a 50K listed stakes for her, and three others showed up, two good ones. I feel bad that it took me her whole career to figure out what her preferred distance was. 2 70

Matter of Fact - 4-year-old trot gelding - He's in a 50K listed stakes, six horse field, some really good horses here so won't be too surprised if he doesn't do well. 5 62

Money and Music - 3-year-old trot colt - Oh my. This is a tough one. He's running in a 500K Grade 1 stakes, ten horse field. I would be over the moon if he won, of course, but right now I'll just be happy if he's in the top five. At least three of them have beaten him before. Hoping for his very best effort. 4 67

Muzelmien - 4-year-old Arabian gelding - $2 purchase in a 12K MSW, six horse field. 6 9

Rhodonite - 5-year-old Arabian mare - $1 purchase that made me over 6K in two starts. Tonight she's in a sponsored 25K MSW, six horse field. 1 63

Smart Little Lady - 2-year-old QH filly - First start, running in a 10K MSW with a full field. 6 59

Spirit Road - 4-year-old Appy colt - Running in a 10K allowance with a full field.

7 63

Star of Tomorrow - 4-year-old QH filly - CAH - Second start, fourth first out. Tonight she's in a 12K MSW, nine horse field. 6 49

The Cutting Edge - 2-year-old QH colt - Running in a 10K allowance, three horse field. 1 52

Earnings for the night - $122,340 (includes a breeder award)
